Research Progress on Application of Rare Earth Elements in Dentistry
Since the late 19th century,extensive and in-depth research on rare earths in medicine has been carried out abroad.Rare earth elements are abbreviated as a group of metal elements.After the 1960s,it was discovered that rare earth compounds have a series of special pharmacological effects and are calcium ion antagonists.They can be widely used to treat bums,skin diseases,thrombosis,and other diseases,demonstrating broad application prospects.It has functions such as antagonizing endotoxins,inhibiting the secretion of inflammatory factors,preventing caries,intervening and regulating bone formation.This article reviews the progress in the application of rare earth elements in dentistry,as they are widely used in the field of biomedicine.
