Research Progress of Nano-materials Applied to Heavy oil Viscosity Reduction
The high viscosity of heavy oil seriously hinders the efficient development,so it is very important to effectively reduce the viscosity of crude oil and improve the fluidity.Using nanomaterials as heavy oil viscosity reducer is an emerging research topic.In this paper,the research progress of different nanomaterials(SiO2 nanoparticles,metal oxide nanoparticles,carbon nanotubes,modified nanoparticles and nanocomposites)in viscosity reduction of heavy oil in recent years is reviewed.The mechanism and effect of viscosity reduction of different nanomaterials are summarized.Finally,the challenges and future research directions of this technology are put forward.The application of nanomaterials in heavy oil viscosity reduction is expected to have a huge impact on the oil industry.
