Activated Persulfate Oxidation Treatment of High Concentration Total Petroleum Hydrocarbon Pollution in A Deep Excavation Soil
Petroleum hydrocarbons are organic pollutants of major concern in soil remediation sites, knows for their high toxicity and persistence. This article takes the deep-layer,high-concentration petroleum hydrocarbon-contaminated soil remediation project in Putuo Dist.,Shanghai as a case study to discuss the risks and response techniques associated with deep excavation. It also conducts preliminary experiments to explore the remediation effect of advanced oxidation systems represented by sodium persulfate and quicklime on petroleum hydrocarbons. The experimental results showed that the removal rate of petroleum hydrocarbon was 76%with 1%sodium persulfate and 1%quick lime. The study aims to determine the effective dosage for large-scale remediation processes and supplement existing engineering application data, providing reference for subsequent related remediation projects.
