In Vitro Antimicrobial Activity Study on 7 Essential Oils
Aerial microorganisms were collected using the natural precipitation method, and the number of aerial microorganism colonies before and after the addition of essential oils was counted using the plate counting method, and the inhibition rate was calculated. Two essential oils were selected for experiments with different volumes of essential oils added at their optimal antibacterial concentrations as well as for interference term testing experiments. The inhibition rate was used to compare the strength of the antibacterial effect of the 7 essential oils;the microbial concentration was calculated using the average of the number of colonies under the best antibacterial concentration of each essential oil and compared with the air microbial evaluation standard.Results:5 of the 7 essential oils have the best antibacterial rate of 70%or more, and the order of antibacterial effect from strong to weak is:lemongrass, lemon, wild orange,lavender,artemisia,peppermint,ylang-ylang.According to the antibacterial effect and price screening of the 2 plant essential oils for lemongrass essential oil and artemisia essential oil.In the interference item test, the commercially available Jo Malone perfume has no interference effect on the 2 essential oils;the commercially available disinfectant has no interference effect on lemongrass essential oil,but has some interference effect on artemisia essential oil.
