The Synthesis and Characterization of a N,N'-bis(trimethylsilyl)benzimidamide Supporting Divalent Iron Coordination Complex with No Coordination Solvent Molecule to Iron Center
by the adoption of N,N'-bis(trimethylsilyl)benzimidamide ligand,a divalent iron coordination compound was synthesized and characterized in which there is no coordination solvent molecules connecting to iron center. For the sake of a better solubility, the commonly used rigid substituent was replaced by a flexible and soft Me3Si-group and this resulted to an identically increase in the solubility of potassium salt and the iron coordination compound supported by this ligand. In addition, taking the trivalent impurities of divalent iron inorganic salt reactants due to the oxidation in the air,the synthesis we reported here in this contribution utilized trivalent iron slat with reductant potassium graphite and the rest starting materials by one-pot reaction method. Thus, the target produced was successfully achieved. It is worth mention, the synthetic access reported in this work not only optimized the synthesis to give better purity, but also simplified the reaction procedure. Thus, the synthetic strategy reported is of considerable efficiency.
