Performance Evaluation of a Delayed Mud Cake Removal Fluid System for Oil-Based Drilling Fluids
In response to the problem of incomplete removal of oil-based drilling mud cake by conventional strong acids,a temperature responsive acid generating material has been developed by ourselves. This material hardly reacts at room temperature. When it reaches the reservoir temperature,it will react with fresh water or saline water to removal H+,and this material is used as the main agent.Inhibitors are selected to control the removal rate of H+in the reservoir, and surfactants and weighting materials are preferred,A new type of oil-based drilling fluid is formed by using delayed mud cake to removal liquid system, which can delay and removal the mud cake formed by acid soluble solid phase. The comprehensive performance evaluation results of the 10%acid generating material to removal liquid system show that the delayed effect and mud cake removal effect of the delayed mud cake removal liquid system are obvious, and the amount of surfactant can affect the delay time and mud cake removal time of the system. The removal time of mud cake can be adjusted by adjusting the dosage of different components. After the liquid system treatment of delayed mud cake removal, the natural core permeability recovery value can reach over 90%,which has good reservoir protection performance.
