Research Progress in Metal Complexes with Organic Compounds as Ligands in Natural Products
Discovering chemical components with novel structures and good biological activity from natural products is one of the effective ways to develop new drugs,but current research mainly focuses on organic compounds within them.Existing research has shown that trace metal elements in natural products may form various metal complexes with organic compounds during the extraction process.These metal complexes may have varying pharmacological activities compared to their corresponding monomeric organic compounds.Therefore,metal complexes are likely to be important pharmacological substances in natural products.This article summarizes the recent research on metal complexes with organic compounds as ligands in natural products and their pharmacological activities,and prospects the development trend and application prospects of these compounds,providing a certain reference value for their further in-depth research and development and utilization.
