Synthesis of Alkylaluminoxane and Catalytic Effect of Alkylaluminoxane in Single-site Catalysts
Alkylaluminoxanes are widely used as co-catalysts in single-site catalysts, including metallocene catalysts as well as non-metallocene catalysts such as FI catalysts and post-transition metal catalysts, which have significantly improved the catalytic activity and facilitated the rapid development of polyolefin industry. In particular, the combination of methylaluminoxane(MAO)and metallocene catalysts makes it possible to produce high-performance polyolefin materials with precisely adjustable microstructures, for instance, metallocene polyethylene(mPE),metallocene polypropylene(mPP),metallocene ethylene-propylene rubber(mEPDM),polyolefin elastomer(POE).Alkylaluminoxanes are costly and the interaction with the active centre can have a great impact on the catalytic performance. An overview of the synthetic methods, structural analysis methods and mechanisms by which alkylaluminoxanes exert a co-catalytic effect is given.
