Active Anti-bacterial Adhesion and Anti-bacterial Research Based on Gravity Driven Droplet Directional Transportation
Harmful bacteria adhering to various material surfaces can constantly endanger human life and health,and the economic cost of dealing with harmful bacterial adhesion is billions of dollars each year.Bacteria adhering to the surface of materials will eventually form biofilms that are difficult to remove.Preventing bacterial adhesion in the initial stage can significantly reduce biofilm formation,which is an effective way to cope with bacterial adhesion.So far,the methods used to prevent initial bacterial adhesion include superhydrophobic surfaces,superhydrophilic surfaces,lubricating surfaces,and intelligent responsive anti adhesion surfaces.However,the vast majority of anti bacterial adhesion methods mentioned above belong to static passive anti bacterial adhesion strategies.This study proposes an active anti bacterial adhesion strategy based on gravity driven targeted droplet transportation,and constructs a new active anti bacterial adhesion system by combining the sterilization zone loaded with silver nanoparticles.The relationship between micro slope height,inclination angle and droplet movement was explored through experiments,and the optimal conditions were obtained.The dynamic anti bacterial adhesion test found that the anti adhesion rates against E.coli and S.aureus were as high as 99.71%and 98.79%,demonstrating a good active anti bacterial adhesion effect,verifying the effectiveness of the gravity driven bacterial droplet directed transportation active anti bacterial adhesion strategy.The terminal sterilization zone not only has a good passive anti adhesion effect,but also can effectively kill bacterial droplets moving to the sterilization zone,with antibacterial rates of up to 100%and 100%against E.coli and S.aureus.The active anti bacterial adhesion strategy based on gravity driven targeted droplet transportation proposed in this study has significant anti adhesion effects.The entire new active anti bacterial adhesion system constructed has good anti bacterial adhesion and sterilization capabilities,providing a new strategy for dealing with bacterial adhesion.It has important application prospects in biomedical,microfluidic technology,and industrial production fields.
