Treatment of Volatile Organic Compounds in Benzene Tanks
In 2014,the Ministry of Ecology and Environment issued the Comprehensive Treatment Plan for Volatile Organic Compounds in the Petrochemical Industry(Huanfa[2014]No.177),which required that hazardous chemicals tanks such as benzene, toluene and xylene should install treatment facilities such as oil and gas recovery devices on the basis of floating roof tanks. The using of membrane separation technology to treat volatile organic compounds in the top of triphenyl tanks in a petrochemical enterprise was researched, which also analyzed and solved the problems encountered in the operation process. The results show that treatment effect meets the non-methane total hydrocarbon removal rate≥97%,benzene<4 mg/m3,toluene<15 mg/m3,xylene<20 mg/m3 as required in Table 4 of Pollutant Discharge Standard for Petroleum Refining Industry(GB31570-2015),which not only controls pollution but also recyles resources, with significant social and economic benefits.
