Determination of High Silica Content in Limestone by Silica-molybdenum Blue Method
The general detection methods of silica with high content(>4%)in limestone are weight method and capacity method.Although the two meet the determination of high content silica, the steps are extremely complicated, the detection cost and labor cost are high, and the detection cycle is long, which is not suitable for the analysis of large quantities of ore samples. The silicon and molybdenum blue spectrophotometric method used for the determination of low content(≤4%)silica completely avoids the disadvantages of weight and volumetric method, which not only greatly shortens the detection period, but also its detection sensitivity and accuracy are better than the former. Therefore, the method of detecting the high content of silica in limestone is established. The experimental results show that the silica molybdenum blue method can not only be used to determine the silica in the limestone content range 0.05%~60.00%,but also greatly shorten the detection period compared with the weight method and capacity method, which saves the reagent and labor cost, and the sensitivity and accuracy of the method also meet the requirements of analysis and detection.
