Effect of Lysosomal pH Homeostasis on Cellular Autophagosomes and Autophagic Flow
Under normal pH conditions, lysosomes can effectively digest and degrade damaged organelles and biomolecules, and play an important role in cellular digestive autophagy;abnormal lysosomal pH leads to inactivation or impairment of hydrolytic enzymes in lysosomes, which may affect the fusion of lysosomes with autophago-somes,leading to accumulation of autophagosomes and impaired autophagic flux. Therefore, lysosomal pH homeostasis is essential for understanding and studying the autophagy.
