Selection of Two Degrading Bacteria Associated with Cephalosporin and Its Application in Sewage Treatment
With the extensive use of cephalosporins in recent years, cephalosporins and their residues in the environment caused many environmental problems. The degrading bacteria would solve cephalexin pollutions caused by the social production. To obtain the degrading bacteria, cephalexin was added into in the anode of microbial fuel cells including the activated sludge from a sewage-treatment plant of Yantai to domesticate bacterial community.High-throughput sequencing technology determined the changes of bacterial community composition before and after adding the cephalexin into activated sludge using 16S rDNA sequence.Mariniradius and Aquimonas increased their relative abundances. Two degrading strains Achromobacter sp.and Ochrobactrum sp.were isolated from carbon cloth electrode by the selective medium including cephalexin.Temperature affected the removal efficiency of cephalexin, and removal efficiencies on the cephalexin by two strains were enhanced by salinity. Two strains degrading bacteria enhanced the removal efficiencies of activated sludge on the cephalexin and chemical oxygen demand. The study of degradation will provide data for the application of microbial degradation in the removal of cephalexin.
