Microwave Digestion ICP-OES Method for Determining Titanium Dioxide Content in Cosmetics
A novel testing method has been established for determining the content of titanium dioxide in cosmetics through Microwave Digestion-Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometry(ICP-OES).The cosmetic samples, after undergoing microwave-assisted digestion with mixed acids, were subjected to ICP-OES analysis to quantify their titanium dioxide content. This method exhibits a linear range spanning from 0.1 to 2.0 mg/L,with an outstanding linearity demonstrated by a correlation coefficient surpassing 0.999.Additionally,it boasts a detection limit as low as 0.94 mg/kg and achieves recovery rates ranging from 90%to 110%,accompanied by relative standard deviations(RSDs)between 1.93%and 2.32%.The results indicate that this method is amenable to batch processing and,due to its attributes of high throughput, sensitivity, precision, and accuracy,it effectively meets the requirements for the determination of titanium dioxide concentrations in cosmetic products.
