Integration of the Frontier Scientific Research into the Comprehensive Chemistry Experiment:Synthesis of a Rare-Earth Metal-Organic Framework and the Application as a Fluorescent Probe
Integration of cutting-edge scientific research results into the experimental teaching of chemical science in universities is the inevitable requirement to cultivate high-quality professional talents in the new ear. This can realize the organic combination of learning and application, which can not only deepen students'understanding of textbook theoretical knowledge, but also stimulate students'interest in engaging in professional practice and cultivate students'innovation ability. In this context, this paper designs a case of integrating metal-organic frameworks, one of the current research hot-spots in the field of chemistry, into comprehensive chemistry experiments, which includes the synthesis, characterization and application of a metal-organic framework as a fluorescent probe. This experiment can not only exercise the basic experimental operation skill, but also involves the leaning of several modern analysis techniques, including infrared spectroscopy, powder X-ray diffraction analysis,thermal-gravimetric analysis, fluorescence spectroscopy and others. The content also involves the application of rare earths, which are one kind of China's important strategic resources,as well as ecological environmental protection. In addition to systematically cultivating students'professional comprehensive ability, this experimental course is also of great value for cultivating students'national pride and ecological protection literacy.
