The Process for Extracting Benzene from FCC Gasoline
Over the past decade,China has rapidly accomplished the quality upgrade of refined oil products,and the standards for vehicle gasoline in China have been at the forefront of the world.The China VIB Standard was fully implemented in 2023,stipulating that the volume fraction of benzene content in vehicle gasoline shall not exceed 0.8％.Considering the characteristics of domestic refineries,where there are a considerable number of FCC units with large processing capacities,and 60％of the components in the gasoline pool are FCC gasoline.In line with the current trend of"reducing oil,increasing chemicals,and eliminating diesel"and the advancement of FCC technology,the severity of reactions in catalytic cracking technology is progressively escalating,corresponding to a gradual increase in the benzene content of gasoline,with the highest reaching a volume fraction of 4％.To meet the National Ⅵ Standard for vehicle gasoline and lower the benzene content in the gasoline pool at a low cost,this paper investigates the technological approach of extracting the benzene-rich components of catalytic gasoline by setting up a benzene extraction tower.
