Experimental Study on Removal of COD from Printing and Dyeing Wastewater by Powdered Activated Carbon
An experimental study on the removal of COD from printing and dyeing wastewater by powdered activated carbon was carried out.The removal effect of powdered activated carbon on COD from the effluent of a printing and dyeing wastewater treatment plant after adding the mixture of aerobic tank, secondary sedimentation tank and high-density tank and the corresponding activated sludge increment were discussed. The results show that under the condition of 20 mg/L~80mg/L powdered activated carbon, the removal rate of COD can reach 5.06%~27.7%,the increment of activated sludge can reach 748 mg/L~2435 mg/L,and the effluent quality can meet the pollutant discharge limit of printing and dyeing wastewater specified in Class Ⅳ of the surface standard. It has important guiding significance for the stable effluent of printing and dyeing wastewater treatment plant to reach the standard.
