Preparation of Plant Capsules by Compounding Modified Zein
Objective:Preparation of plant capsules with sustained release effect using arabic gum composite material made from corn gliadin as raw material. Methods:The compound technology of zein and gum arabic was studied, and the ultraviolet spectrum and viscosity value were used as indicators, which the infrared spectrum and differential scanning calorimeter were used for inspection;Taking the water vapor permeability coefficient and oil permeability of zein membrane as indexes, the best formula was obtained to make the plant capsule, and the storage stability test was carried out;Indomethacin was used as a model drug, filled in zein plant capsule, and phosphate buffer was used as dissolution medium to study the sustained release performance of plant capsule. Results:The solid-liquid ratio of the composite process was determined to be 10∶1.3,and the pH value was 6.The results of infrared spectroscopy and differential scanning calorimetry showed that the composite was formed. The optimum formula conditions were determined by single factor experiment as follows:75%of glacial acetic acid volume fraction,0.2 g of sodium carboxymethyl cellulose,0.4 g of polyvinylpyrrolidone, and 0.2 g of the compound was added to the above conditions to make a plant capsule, which can make the capsule rate reach 95%.Conclusion:The release determined is in accordance with the provisions of the Pharmacopoeia, indicating that the plant capsule has a sustained release performance.
