Research on Modification Methods of Biochar and the Phosphate Adsorption in Water by Modified Biochar
The removal of phosphate from water bodies plays an important role in controlling the phenomenon of eutrophication, and the adsorption method is widely used because of its advantages of high efficiency, low cost, easy operation, and low pollution. Moreover, modified biochar has a stronger adsorption capacity for phosphate.Based on the domestic and international studies on the adsorption of phosphate by modified biochar, this review summarizes the common preparation methods of biochar and compares the properties of biochar modified by physical, chemical, and biological methods, revealing the characteristics of the differences in the actual effects of modified biochar adsorption of phosphate in water experiments. Finally, the preparation of biochar from three representative biomaterials, algae, lignin, and straw, and the best modification plan were introduced,to provide direction and theoretical support for subsequent research and application.
