Experimental Design for Preparation of Polyurethane Porous Materials and Their Application in Oil-water Separation Based on the Concept of Green Development
The effective treatments of the frequently-spilled ocean oil and large amounts of discarded plastics have become important global issues that urgently need to be addressed.Based on the concept of green development,a comprehensive experiment was designed and implemented to prepare polyurethane porous materials and explore their potential applications in oil-water separation. In this experiment, the thermoplastic polyurethane porous materials were prepared with the raw materials of thermoplastic polyurethane plastics by water-assisted thermally induced phase separation. The functional group composition of the porous materials was characterized and analyzed by an infrared spectrometer, the morphology and structure by a scanning electron microscope, and the hydrophobicity by a contact angle goniometer.Oil adsorption experiments further confirm the potential of polyurethane porous materials in oil-water separation. The experimental content is novel and comprehensive, crossing disciplines such as chemistry and materials science, while highlighting environmental protection awareness and social responsibility awareness. It is helpful to enhance students'comprehensive abilities and qualities.
