Effect of Coupling Agent on Mechanical Properties of Glass Fiber Reinforced PP Composites
The affinity between glass fiber and polyolefins(such as polypropylene, polyethylene, etc.)lacking active groups in molecular chains is poor, and it is difficult to form effective interface bonding when blending modification, while the use of compatibilizers can effectively improve the interface bonding of two phases and the mechanical properties of composite materials. In this paper, four different types of maleic anhydride-grafted polypropylene(PP-g-MAH)were used as compatibilizers to study the effects of the compatibilizer properties, content and process parameters on the mechanical properties of glass fiber reinforced polypropylene(GF/PP)composites.The results show that when the type of compatibilizer was PC-3 and its proportion was 3%,the mechanical properties were the highest.Meanwhile, the screw speed was 350 rpm and the throughput was 100 kg/h can get best performance.
