Research Progress on the Influencing Factors of Anaerobic Digestion
Anaerobic digestion is a biological process that converts organic waste into biogas, and has been widely used in the treatment of sewage sludge,agricultural/livestock waste, kitchen waste, and other fields. However, the biggest bottleneck in the engineering application of anaerobic digestion technology is low methane production and unstable process operation. Therefore, the influencing factors of anaerobic digestion have always been a research hotspot in this field. This article reviews the theory of anaerobic digestion and systematically summarizes the main influencing factors of anaerobic digestion process, including the latest research progress of reactor conditions(reactor type, sludge properties),environmental factors(temperature,pH value, hydraulic retention time),and substrate conditions(ammonia nitrogen, sulfide, trace metal elements). At the same time, the shortcomings of anaerobic digestion technology were pointed out,and the future development was discussed.
