The Effect Evaluation of Cosmetics and their Research Progress
The efficacy evaluation of cosmetics is to test, analyze and explain the efficacy of cosmetics through variety of methods, such as biochemistry, cell biology, animal or clinical studies. The traditional efficacy evaluation of cosmetics mainly uses animal experiments. With the development of biotechnology and the promotion of the 3R(reduction,substitution,optimization)for experimental animals,3D reconstructed skin models and zebrafish models have been widely used due to their high similarity with human skin physiology and structure. In this paper,we describe the progress made in the application of 3D reconstructed skin models for evaluating the efficacy of functional cosmetics, such as whitening, repairing skin barrier, anti wrinkles, and zebrafish models for efficacy evaluation at antioxidant, moisture, soothing. The paper is estimated to provide a reference for the selection of appropriate in vitro methods to evaluate the performance of various cosmetics.
