Characteristic and Evaluation of Road Dust Pollution by Heavy Metal of Luliang
Collecting road dust samples in Lishi district,Fangshan county,Liulin county and Zhongyang county of Luliang. The contents of Ni,Cu,Pb,Zn and Cd in the road dust were determined by atomic absorption spectrometry. The pollution levels of heavy metals were assessed with Geo-accumulation Pollution Index and Potential Ecologically Risk Assessment Index. The assessment results of Geo-accumulation Pollution Index revealed that the element of Cu,Zn,Ni were not exceeded in each functional area, whereas all the other elements caused contamination to certain extend and the contamination of Cd was the most serious one.The Potential Ecologically risk assessment results shown that the level of heavy metal pollution and ecological harm were above heavy. The excess of these elements in road dust primarily from commercial production, coal combustion and emission of motor vehicles.
