Study on the Distribution of Several Heavy Metals Content in Different Parts of Sweet Potato
The edible sweet potatoes from Tunxi District,Xiuning County and Huizhou District of Huangshan City were selected as the research objects. The contents of five heavy metals, arsenic(As),copper(Cu),cadmium(Cd),chromium(Cr)and manganese(Mn)in sweet potato stems, leaves and fruits were determined by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry(ICP-MS)with nitric acid hydrogen peroxide digestion system, and the distribution of heavy metal ions in different growth parts of sweet potato was analyzed. The results indicate that the content of each element varies with the origin and location. The content of copper ions in sweet potato stems>sweet potato leaves>sweet potato fruits in three production areas; The content of chromium ion in Tunxi District and Huizhou District sweet potato stem>content in sweet potato leaf>content in sweet potato fruit, and the content in Xiuning County sweet potato leaf>content in sweet potato stem>content in sweet potato fruit; The content of arsenic ions in sweet potato leaves>stem>fruit in three different producing areas;Cadmium ion content in sweet potato stems>sweet potato leaves>sweet potato fruits in three production areas;Manganese ion content in sweet potato leaves>sweet potato stems>sweet potato fruits in three production areas; The inconsistent distribution of different heavy metal elements in different parts of sweet potatoes indicates that there are certain differences in the absorption and enrichment ability of these five heavy metal elements in different parts of sweet potatoes. The content of five heavy metals in sweet potato fruits from three producing areas is the lowest, and none of them exceeds the national limit standards, providing a basis for the safe consumption of sweet potato fruits.
