Synthesis and Surface Properties Study of Cardanol Cationic Surfactants
Four cashew phenol-based quaternary ammonium salt surfactants were synthesized through two quaternization routes with cardanol glyceryl ether(CGE)as the raw material. The process conditions of both routes was were optimized by single-factor experimental method. The compound structures were identified by NMR,IR and ESI-Mass.The surface tension γ,emulsification performance, foamability, and other surface properties of the surfactant solutions were determined. The results showed that the synthesized quaternary ammonium salt cationic compounds exhibited good surface activities.Compared with the commercial surfactant SDBS,the synthesized surfactants had lower critical micelle concentration(CMC),better emulsification performance and solubilization capacity, and lower foam height.
