Study on Separation and Extraction Method of Microplastics in Sewage Treatment Plant
Plastic particles or fibers with a particle size smaller than 5 mm are called microplastic Microplastics(MPs).As the"source"and"sink"of MPs,sewage treatment plant is determined to be the key link before land-based MPs enters the Natural water environment. The separation and extraction of microplastic samples from sewage treatment plant is a key step in the follow-up study of microplastic occurrence and removal. In this study, three kinds of digestion agents(30%H2O2,Fenton reagent and NaOH)combined with ZnCl2 flotation agent were used to separate and extract 4 types and 4 kinds of microplastics in sewage and sludge. The results show that 30%H2O2 digestion combined with ZnCl2 flotation is suitable for wastewater treatment plant water samples,post-digestion method is suitable for dewatered sludge samples, and 30%H2O2 digestion is carried out after ZnCl2 flotation.Raman spectra showed that the characteristic peaks of PET changed most significantly, but it did not affect the identification of its types.
