Integrating Frontier Scientific Research into Experimental Teaching of Wastewater Treatment:Advanced Treatment of Refractory Wastewater by Electro-peroxone Process
This paper intends to design an undergraduate/postgraduate teaching experiment which can be used in environmental engineering and a related profession.Hydrogen peroxide was produced by in-situ electrocatalysis to improve ozone oxidation efficiency and control the generation of active oxygen species,so as to improve the performance of advanced oxidation treatment of refractory wastewater. This experiment is focused on mastering the basic approach and principles of advanced treatment of industrial wastewater, investigating the influence of main operating parameters in the advanced oxidation system on the removal rate of refractory pollutants, and improving the understanding of the advanced treatment process of wastewater and its process selection.Through this experiment, students not only learn the theory and the operation method of a new technology, but also have an in-depth understanding of the potential value of electro-peroxone process during the advanced treatment technology, which can stimulate the interests and creativity of students in the frontier technology of environmental governance.
