Design and Synthesis of a Chitosan-based Hydrogels Based on Imine Bond
We designed and synthesized two monomers of carboxymethyl chitosan(CMC)and ortho ester dialdehyde(CHO-OE-CHO).CMC greatly improved the water solubility,and retained a large number of amino groups to participate in the formation of hydrogel.CHO-OE-CHO had acid-sensitivity and could be hydrolyzed under acidic conditions.Two gel factors,CMC and CHO-OE-CHO,could construct CHO-OE-CHO/CMC hydrogel network spontaneously by imine bonds.FT-IR was used to characterize the structure of hydrogel,which proved that the formation of hydrogel was related to the spontaneous bonding of imine bonds.The image of SEM showed that the CHO-OE-CHO/CMC hydrogel had three-dimensional network structure with many gaps,which has potential application for medical dressings.
