Study on the Whitening and Barrier Repair Effects of Oxyresveratrol
Healthy whitening is an important trend in skincare, and this study investigated the effects of the natural compound oxyresveratrol on skin whitening and barrier repairing. The results of in vitro assays showed that the IC50 values of oxyresveratrol on tyrosinase and DPPH free radical activity were 0.172 µg/mL and 2.51 µg/mL,respectively,which were superior to resveratrol,α-arbutin and vitamin C.In a UVB-induced keratinocyte damage model, oxyresveratrol significantly increased the gene expression levels of barrier-related proteins LOR,DSP,FBN-1,and CLDN-1,surpassing the effects of resveratrol. In conclusion, oxyresveratrol exhibited skin whitening and barrier repair properties.
