Study on the Determination of BIT in a New Cosmetic Antiseptic by Reverse Phase High Performance Liquid Chromatography
This article studies and establishes a method for determining a new antiseptic in the cosmetics industry,1,2-benzisothiazolin-3-one(BIT),using reverse phase high performance liquid chromatography(RP-HPLC-DAD/UVD).BIT adopts chromatographic pure methanol room temperature ultrasonic extraction, and the chromatographic separation column is SHIMADZU Shim pack GIST C18 analytical column(4.6 mm*250 mm*5 μ m).The determination is carried out using chromatographic pure methanol∶water=70%∶30%as the mobile phase elution. The UV detection wavelength is λ1=225 nm(quantitative wavelength)/λ2=319 nm(auxiliary qualitative wavelength),and the temperature of the CTO column temperature box is set to 30℃.The linear range of the standard curve is 0.5 μg/mL to 100.0 μg/mL,with a linear equation A=13323.8C-3505.69,a correlation coefficient R=0.9998550,a minimum detection limit of 0.36 μg/mL,an average recovery rate of 99.3%,and a relative standard deviation RSD%of 0.19%(n=10).This method is simple, sensitive, accurate, and fast, providing a practical and convenient analytical method for the detection and quality control of new antiseptic BIT in our cosmetics products.
