Integration of Cutting-Edge Scientific Research Results into Chemical Engineering Experimental Course Teaching:The Fabrication of Functional Organic Membranes and the Removal Heavy Metal Ions from Industrial Wastewater
A functional organic membrane material was designed for an undergraduate experiment on treating heavy metal ion wastewater.Firstly, methacrylic acid molecules were grafted onto a polyether sulfone membrane. Then, positively and negatively charged biomolecules were assembled on the membrane surface through layer-by-layer assembly.Subsequently, the effectiveness of these membranes in treating heavy metal ion wastewater was investigated. This experiment provides a more environmentally friendly technology for treating heavy metal ion wastewater.By actively participating in this experimental course, students can gain a deep understanding of the significant potential of membrane materials in environmental management, stimulate their comprehension of diverse means for environmental governance, and establish strong connections between theoretical knowledge and practical applications.
