Preparation of Sulfonic Acid Based Polyformaldehyde Catalyst for Catalytic Hydration of Acrolein to 3-Hydroxypropanal
The preparation of 3-hydroxypropanal through the hydration of acrolein is a key step in the process of the hydration-hydrogenation of acrolein to prepare 1,3-propanediol.The traditional hydration reaction needs to be carried out in an acidic homogeneous catalytic system. However, the liquid acid homogeneous catalytic system has serious corrosion to the reactor, the waste liquid discharge is easy to pollute the environment, and the catalyst is difficult to recover and reuse. Therefore,it is of great significance to develop high-performance solid acid catalysts for efficiently catalyzing the hydration of acrolein to produce 3-hydroxypropanal.In this study,a catalyst with Brønsted acid site was designed and prepared for the synthesis of 3-hydroxypropanal from acrolein hydration reaction, and the catalyst was characterized by PXRD,FT-IR,NH3-TPD,SEM,TGA,etc.It is found that the catalyst has strong acid site strength, high thermal stability and chemical stability, and has excellent catalytic performance for the hydration of acrolein.
