Research Progress and Standardization Status of LiFePO4 Materials for Lithium-ion Batteries used in Grid Energy Storage
Lithium-ion batteries,as a high performance and high energy density secondary battery are currently the main type of energy storage device in grid energy storage due to their advantages of long service life, small size,no memory effect, and good rate property.LiFePO4 has been widely commercialized as a cathode material in lithium ion batteries, but due to its low ion diffusion rate, electronic conductivity, and vibrational density, there is an urgent need for modification treatment to improve the electrochemical performance and energy storage capacity of LiFePO4 batteries. This work reviews the research progress on LiFePO4 based on the current research status of its microstructure,structure-property relationship,charge-discharge mechanism and modification methods including ions doping, interface modification, and particle size and microstructure control.Meanwhile, this work also studied the standardization status of LiFePO4 materials, and the impact of standardization of industrial development.
