Application of a Organic Conditioner in Dyeing Biochemical Sludge Conditioning
Polymeric ferric sulfate(PFS)was used to improve dyeing biochemical surplus sludge dewatering properties in wastewater treatment station of a textile printing and dyeing industrial plant in Zhongshan, but there were many problems. This sludge conditioning method had the higher water content of filter cake(66%),the low filter cake output of plate and frame filter presses, the intensive physical labor and the short service life of the sludge conditioning equipments and pipelines and so on.To solve the difficulties of dyeing sludge dewatering,we researched the organic conditioners to replace PFS.The results showed that the novel organic conditioner could effectively improve dyeing biochemical surplus sludge dewatering performance.Compared with the PFS conditioning method, when the novel organic configuration concentration was 0.15%~0.2%and the powder dosage ratio was 0.3%~0.4%(organic conditioner weight/absolute dry sludge weight),vacuum breaking time of biochemical sludge<300 s,the amount of the filter cake output of a plate and frame machine increased by 10%~25%and the water content of the filter cake decreased from 66%to 62%.But the conditioning cost was remained unchanged(RMB 169.4 per ton absolute dry sludge). In addition, the pH of the new conditioner filtrate was 7,and the neutral filtrate greatly reduced the corrosion of field equipment and pipelines. At the same time, the sludge unloading time of each plate and frame machine was shortened by 50%and the filter cloth replacement cycle was extended by 50%.It was obvious that the new conditioning method greatly reduced labor intensity and labor time.
