Study on the Efficacy of Cream Containing Fermented Portulaca Oleracea L.Extract
With fermented Portulaca Oleracea L.(PO)extract and PO extract as the main active ingredients,two creams A and B were prepared respectively,and the human clinic efficacy was compared.The water content of the stratum corneum,the TEWL value and the EI value of the skin erythema index were measured at week 0,week 1,week 2 and week 4,and the facial pictures of the subjects were taken via the VISIA 7 skin analysis apparatus,the skin redness a*value and VISIA red zone feature count before and after the test were analyzed.The results showed that after using the cream samples A and B,the water content of the stratum corneum,the TEWL,the EI value of the skin erythema index and the a*value of skin redness in the test area were significantly improved(P<0.001),and the group B with fermented PO extract showed better improvement on the skin erythema index after 4 weeks of application than group A(P<0.05).In terms of the VISIA red zone feature count,the change rates of group B after 1 week,2 weeks and 4 weeks of application were 13.76%(P<0.01),9.60%(P<0.05)and 12.85%(P<0.001),respectively,while the group A with PO extract was not significant(P>0.05).The fermented PO extract in this study had superior soothing and fading redness effects compared to the unfermented PO.
