Cognitive State and Emotional Experience of Student Teachers in Their First Internship—Qualitative Analysis Based on KH Coder and Nvivo
Based on the diary, summary and interview materials of 89 student teachers in their first internship, this paper adopted the method of combining content analysis and grounded theory, and used two qualitative analysis software KH Coder and Nvivo for cross-validation to investigate and explore the cognitive state, emotional experience and the causes of negative emotions of student teachers in their first internship. The study found that the three main concerns of teacher trainees are:the teaching methods of primary school teachers, the learning process of primary school students, and the teacher trainees'own reflective experiences.Although the teacher trainees mainly showed a positive emotional attitude during their practicum, they faced cognitive conflicts between ideal and actual teaching, and experienced negative emotions such as anxiety and tension.Through the three-level coding of grounded theory,it was found that negative emotions mainly came from other people, reality and personal factors. The study revealed the cognitive state and emotional characteristics of student teachers in their first internship, which provided a basis for improving student teachers education.
