The Impact of Internationalization on the Intercultural Competence of Chinese Domestic Chinese Students
Internationalization of teachers is a crucial factor in the internationalization of higher education and an essential component internationalization at home. Its impact on the intercultural competence(IC)of Chinese domestic university students deserves further exploration. The study analyzed a sample of 2633 university students from Peking University,Nanjing University and Huazhong University of Science and Technology. The results demonstrate that internationalization of teachers significantly influences the IC of university students across various dimensions including attitudes, knowledge, skills, internal outcomes, and external outcomes.Furthermore, internationalized courses can also amplify the positive effects of internationalization of teachers on students'acquisition of foreign cultural knowledge and interculturalskills.Based on this,it is recommended to promote the internationalization of university teachers through three aspects:improving the internationalization of local teachers, optimizing the service and management of foreign teachers, and integrating internationalized teachers and curricula,so as to more efficiently enhance Chinese domestic university students'IC.
