The Use of Lesson Study in Pre-service Teacher Education-An Analysis and Implications Based on the British,Norwegian and American Experiences
Originating in Japan, lesson study is a type of teaching seminar that promotes teachers'professional development. In applying lesson study, teachers work together to design, observe and analyse an actual classroom lesson to reflect on and improve their teaching.Case studies have been used less frequently in pre-service teacher education.By analysing and comparing the experiences of three countries, namely the United Kingdom,Norway and the United States,in the application of case studies in pre-service teacher education,it can be found that case studies can combine teaching theories with teaching practices and improve the teaching ability of pre-service teachers, and these experiences provide a reference for the improvement of teaching methods in pre-service teacher education.
