Design of the Upper Structure of Large-span Simply Supported Steel Box Girder for Jinjiang Century Avenue
The Kuifeng Bridge of the Jinjiang Century Avenue's southward extension to Keyuan Road(Nanan Section)project employs a single-span simply supported steel box girder with a span of 66m to cross over the left and right auxiliary lanes of the main road.This paper utilizes MIDAS to conduct a finite element analysis on the upper struc-ture of the large-span simply supported steel box girder.The results indicate that the structural checking calcula-tions meet the requirements of the specifications,fully demonstrating the structural performance and stress charac-teristics of the large-span simply supported steel box girder.In the initial design stage,the upper structure of the steel box girder was often roughly estimated and analyzed using a member system model,which means that only the stress analysis results of the first system were considered at this stage.However,the calculation results reveal that the stress in the second system is relatively high and cannot be overlooked.This paper provides details such as the structural dimensions,layouts,and other specifics of the top,bottom,webs,stiffening plates,and dia-phragms of the large-span steel box girder,which can serve as a reference for the design of similar steel box girder upper structures.
