Mr.Han Boquan is a significant founding figure in the study of Lingnan culture.He was praised by the former Soviet Academy of Sciences'chief researcher Boris Lvovich Riftin as the"Star of Lingnan Ethnic Culture Research."This paper reviews his academic journey and achievements,highlighting how he applied the theories and research methods that combine folklore and ethnic cultural studies to the ethnology discipline construction and research work at Guangdong Polytechnic Normal University(formerly Guangdong Ethnic College).His pioneering contributions have significantly advanced the development of Lingnan culture.Moreover,he is recognized as one of the pioneers,builders,and founders of the ethnology discipline at Guangdong Polytechnic Normal University.
