The Influence of Paternal Media Parenting Behavior on Problematic Media Use in Preschool Children:The Moderating Effect of Children's Temperament
Parental media-related parenting behavior and children's temperament are key factors in guiding children to use media rationally.A questionnaire survey was conducted among 8211 fathers of children aged 3-6 years in Guangdong Province,aiming to investigate the influence of paternal media parenting behavior on problematic media use in preschool children and the moderating effect of children's temperament on this relationship.This study concludes that children's temperament moderates the complex relationship between fathers'media parenting practices and children's problematic media engagement.This study suggests that fathers should focus on the content of children's media use,emphasize their positive role in parenting,establish high-quality parent-child communication to guide young children's media use,and respect the differences in children's temperament by adjusting the media upbringing flexibly.
