Seasonal Variations of Growth and Photosynthetic Characteristics of Eucalyptus Plantation
We studied the seasonal variations of the growth and photosynthetic characteristics of Eucalyptus plantation in Heyuan. The results were as follows: The heights and DBH of Eucalyptus plantation in different months were significantly different from each other (P <0. 05). The tree height increased 241. 37% from July to October 2010, while 26. 85% from October 2010 to April 2011. There is obvious seasonal variation in photosynthetic characteristics, the order of net photosynthetic rate ( Pn) , water use efficiency ( WLJE) and stomatal conductance in different months is October 2010 > April 2011 > July 2010, and, the Pn and WUE in October 2010 were 22. 39 |xmol CO2 m~2 s~1 and 4. 19 μmol CO2 · mmol H2O~1, respectively. From July 2010 to October 2010, Eucalyptus plantation grew rapidly, but from October 2010 to Apirl 2011, the growth of Eucalyptus plantation become slow.
