The Resources Surveys and Aesthetic Evaluation of Bombax ceiba in Guangzhou
The field investigation were carried out on Bombax ceiba germplasm resources in Guangzhou city,and comprehensive evaluation has been made by Analytic Hierarchy Process.The results showed that B.ceiba had diverse genetic charatacters and enormous potential for development and utilization in landscaping.Except varieties with colorful flowers,varieties of grandiflora,dense flower,multiflora with less fruit and multiflora without fibres were also found,which had excellent ornamental value,including bright yellow-petal one.The development of these resources could not only be applied in city landscaping to improve aesthetic quality,but also provide references for germplasm conservation and selective breeding.
