Early Analyses on Growth and Form Traits of Cinnamomum camphora Clones
Two experimental forests of cinnamomum camphora clones were planted in Zijin county,Guang-dong province in 2012 and 2013.The growth traits, including height and ground diameter, and form traits ,inclu-ding canopy and stem straightness were measured. The results showed that the survival rate reached above 93%. Significant differences of 4 observed traits were found among different clones. All the traits had a high repeatability level (0.807 7~0.935 4).There were significant correlation among height, ground diameter and canopy, but the correlation between stem straightness and height, ground diameter or canopy, showed a trend of decrease along with the increase of forest age.In order to improve the efficiency of clone selection,it should be necessary to focus on the growth and form traits at the same time when selecting super clones.
