The Application of Bauhinia in Three Greenbelt Types in Guangzhou
The study focused on the application of Bauhinia in city parks,main roads and university campus in Guangzhou city.The research method contained stratified sampling,literature review,and access method.The results showed that there were 5 species of Bauhinia found in Guangzhou,including Bauhinia variegata,B. blakeana,B.variegata var.candidaand B.purpurea,and B.galpinii.Among them,the most widely used was B.variegata,followed by B.blakeana.All varieties showed good ecological adaptability.From the planting way of Bauhinia trees,the park green space was given priority to with group planting.The greenbelt in urban main road and university campus were given priority to with linear planting.About 67.3% of sampling plots,the Bauhinia’s canopy was on the top or the middle layer vertically which brings great horticultural value.
