The wood drying characteristics of small diameter of Eucalyptus grandis×E. urophylla were analyzed by using the 100℃ test method and its drying schedule was optimized, and the drying technology experiment was subsequently conducted. The results showed that the level of initial cracking, internal cracking and cross section deformation of E. grandis×E. urophylla were 3, 2 and 5, respectively, and the drying difficulty was in medium; the drying period was 16.3 days by using the optimized drying schedule when the moisture content decreased from 115.13% to 8.50%, and the quality of drying samples reached the first level of the national standard GB/T 6491—2012, except the cupping defect.
