Effects of Substrate and Plant Hormones on Rooting of Hibiscus rosa-sinensis Cuttings
By comparing the survival rate and root development of Hibiscus rosa-sinensis cuttings under different substrates, the suitable cultivation conditions for safflower cuttings were screened, which will provide a scientific basis for the propagation of safflower cuttings. In this study, four kinds of substrates of yellow soil,light-medium,peat soil and mixed soil(yellow soil:light medium:peat soil=2:4:4),three kinds of plant hormones of ABT,IBA and NAA,and three kinds of concentrations,250 mg/L,500 mg/L and 750 mg/L,were selected for the orthogonal test. The results showed that the root number, root length, rooting rate and root effect indices of safflower cuttings of mixed soil were 3.86,5.82 cm,87.50%and 1.84,respectively,which were significantly better than yellow soil,light-medium,peat soil(P<0.05).The root number, root length, rooting rate and root effect indices of safflower cuttings of ABT of 750 mg/L were the maximum, which was 5.06,6.54,87.89%and 2.68,respectively.The orthogonal test results showed that the optimal combination with the highest rooting rate of safflower cuttings was A1B3C3(using yellow soil as the substrate, soaked in 750 mg/L ABT for 30 s).This study investigated the differences in rooting rate and root development of Saf-flower cuttings under different substrate types, plant hormones and concentrations, which will provide technical support for the propagation of Safflowers variety.
