The Effect of Cinnamomum burmanni Content on the Diversity of Phyllospheric Microorganism
There are few reports on the effect of borneol content on the biodiversity of phyllospheric micro-organisms in the leaves of borneol-type Cinnamomum burmanni at different developmental stages.Accordingly,in this paper, the leaves of two C.burmanni varieties(high borneol content-H and low borneol content-L)at two developmental stages(tender and mature)were used as the study materials, and the content of borneol was detected in four groups of samples by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS),and the results of 16S sequencing were used to comparatively analyze the changes in the structure and relative abundance of the phyllo-spheric microorganisms. The results showed that(1)the content of borneol in mature leaves of both strains sig-nificantly increased compared to tender leaves.(2)A total of 259 operational taxonomic units(OTUs)were detected in the 4 sets of samples, with the highest number of H-specific OTUs.(3)The α-diversity index of the bacterial community based on these H mature leaves was the highest among the four groups of samples, and the diversity of the phyllospheric microorganisms in the leaves of the high borneol-content varieties increased with leaf maturity, while the diversity of the phyllospheric microorganisms in the low borneol-content lines did not change significantly. The differences in bacterial abundance among the four groups of samples were mainly focused on Sphingomonas sp.,Curtobacterium sp.,Pseudomonas sp.,Enterobacteriaceae sp.,Paenibacillus sp.and Bacillus sp..The research results indicate that changes in the content of borneol in C.burmanni leaves affect the structure and abundance of bacterial communities in the leaf area. The higher the content of borneol in C.burmanni leaves, the easier it is for the diversity of bacterial communities in the leaf area to change as the ma-ture leaves.
