Study on Seed Germination Characteristics and Its Influencing Factors of Leucaena leucocephala
In order to understand the population diffusion mechanism of Leucaena Leucocephala and pro-vide technical support for its large-scale breeding and rational utilization in ecological restoration, the morpho-logical characteristics, fresh weight and water content of pods and seeds of L.leucocephala at three different mature stages, the seed germination at different temperatures and light conditions, and the influence of sowing substrates, soaking in 6-BA and GA3 solutions were studied. The results showed that the immature pods had the largest number of 19.30 grains and the highest water content of 61.88%and the largest fresh weight of 42.09 g,and the medium-ripe pods had the maximum fresh.weight of 42.09 g.The young seeds had the highest water content,73.10%,and moderate mature seeds had the heaviest fresh weight, with 100-grain weight of 7.04 g.The germination rate and germination index were the highest at 25℃ and room temperature(Day 25-35℃/night 18-25℃),which was the more appropriate temperature for germination, and the germination rate was significantly higher than that in the light, and the seeds were light-demanding seeds. The moderate mature seeds had the highest germination rate and germination index, followed by immature seeds and the full mature seeds had the smallest. The full mature seeds were sown in different substrates, and reached the highest seedling yield in vegetative soil, followed by garden soil and the lowest in sand.Soaking of 100 mg/L GA3 and 10 mg/L 6-BA solutions for 24 h significantly promoted the germination of full mature seeds(P<0.05),whereas 300-700 mg/L GA3 and 30-70 mg/L 6-BA solutions instead inhibited them.
